Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations . . .Matthew 28:19
Pastoral Training
School of Ministry
At the School of Ministry, we equip national pastors and leaders to reach their own nation for Christ. While we believe that the Great Commission calls Christians to cross-cultural ministry, we also recognize that national missionaries have a great advantage in evangelizing and discipling their own people.
National missionaries are often more immediately effective than foreign missionaries. While foreign missionaries usually take 2-3 years to adapt to their new culture and learn their new language, national missionaries are already naturally integrated into their culture and instinctively skilled in all the nuances of their community’s verbal and non-verbal communication.
National missionaries are often more efficient than foreign missionaries. While foreign missionaries usually require large budgets for international travel and maintenance of their foreign lifestyle, national missionaries already live on the level of their community and often can be supported at a fraction of that cost.
Our students have a heart to reach their nation for Christ; our sponsors have a heart to see the nations reached. Our School of Ministry puts the resources of the international church into the hands of the national church, empowering young laborers to learn, grow, and be sent out into God’s field.
For our ministry training model, we look to Jesus, who spent the 3 years of His earthly ministry discipling 12 men: first setting an example for them; then teaching them to follow that example; then releasing them to do His works themselves. Accordingly, we emphasize both class work and field work, manual labor and spiritual devotions. Our rigorous program of study, service, and communal living prepares our students to respond faithfully to God’s calling on their lives.
